An estimated 5,000 children will be fed on the BackPack Program in 33 Kentucky Counties annually.

Each child will receive a bag of 10-15 kid-friendly food items every Friday or prior to the weekend throughout the entire school year.

Food items vary, depending on availability, but include items such as:

Single serve, pop-top beef stew

Single serve, pop-top beanie weenies

Single serve soup

Peanut butter crackers

Cheese crackers

Oatmeal

Shelf-stable milk

Single serve cereal

Raisins

Pudding cup

Fruit cup

Granola bar

Cocoa
