A Kids Cafe Kickoff!

In January 2009, Feeding America, Kentucky's Heartland partnered with New Hope Community Church in opening a Kids Cafe!

What is a Kids Cafe?

A Kids Cafe is an after-school or out of school feeding program. Our target population is low-income children or children who are at-risk of being hungry. Food bank members, such as Feeding America, Kentucky's Heartland help to provide meals and snacks to organizations in doing youth enrichment programs such as Boys and Girls Clubs, churches, schools, housing authorities and other youth centers.

Our goal is to feed children who are hungry.

  • As of January 2009, 130 children are fed weekly at the Kids Cafe:
    - 1 hot meal on Wednesdays
    - 1 sack lunch on Sunday afternoons
  • Feeding America, Kentucky's Heartland will assist our Kids Cafe in grants/donations, increasing local awareness, and overall support of the Kids Cafe program.

We hope to expand Kids Cafes in the Bowling Green and Glasgow area in the near future. Stay tuned!
