Kroger “Brings Hope to the Table” Once Again

Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH) receives $18,000 from Kroger!

Elizabethtown store managers Mark Abshear and Chris Swearinger presented FAKH’s Gary Miles a check for $18,000.  Fourteen stores participated in raising funds for the “Bringing Hope to the Table” promotion (Hardin, Meade, Taylor, Marion, Russell, Wayne, Muhlenberg, Warren and Christian counties).  Area Kroger stores partnered with vendors in raising funds to help the food bank feed the hungry in Kentucky’s Heartland.

Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland is a regional food bank that provides donated foods to 242 charitable agencies (food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, etc.) in 42 counties for re-distribution to those in need.  The food bank receives donations of food and groceries from across the nation and distributes nearly 10 million pounds annually to feed 125,500 people through its charitable network.  To learn more about your regional food bank and support our mission, please visit us at www.feedingamericaky.org.
